Sedona, AZ – Democrat Tom O’Halleran announced today that the National Education Association endorsed him in his race for Congress in Arizona’s first district, which reaches from the Flagstaff and the Navajo Nation down to the Tucson suburbs of Marana, Saddlebrooke and Oro Valley.

“Educators are proud to recommend Tom O’Halleran to represent Arizona’s 1st Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives,” said NEA President Lily Eskelsen García. “Tom has a long history of fighting to make sure all students, regardless of ZIP code, have an opportunity to succeed. Educators know that he will continue to do what is best for all of Arizona’s families, students and public education if elected to Congress, because he knows that when children have a fair chance, we not only create strong public schools, we create a stronger country.”

“I am proud to receive an endorsement from the National Education Association. I strongly believe that every child deserves a quality education. Investing in our children’s education is a critical factor in providing them with the tools necessary to succeed in the future. I thank the NEA for their endorsement and look forward to continuing to work with them to improve the lives of our children.”
