House censures Rep. Gosar for violent video in rare rebuke

The House voted Wednesday to censure Republican Rep. Paul Gosar of Arizona for posting an animated video that depicted him killing Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez with a sword, an extraordinary rebuke that highlighted the political strains testing Washington and the country… Arizona Democratic Rep. Tom O’Halleran said the censure was appropriate. “Videos depicting violence against fellow representatives and the president are not funny or appropriate,” O’Halleran said in a statement after the vote. “Worse, they disrespect the office Rep. Gosar holds and the Arizona taxpayers who sent him to Washington to fix problems in their communities.”
