Congressman Tom O’Halleran Calls on AZ-01 Candidates to Denounce Comments Made by Arizona Representative
FLAGSTAFF – Today, Congressman Tom O’Halleran denounced comments made by Arizona Representative David Stringer at a campaign event in Yavapai County, and he called on GOP candidates in the First Congressional District race to join him.
“Isolationist and xenophobic comments, like those expressed by State Representative Stringer, only serve to divide our communities. Regardless of party, we all need to focus on bringing our country together,” said Congressman O’Halleran. “ I am appalled by Mr. Stringer's comments and urge him to apologize to Arizonans. Those words do not represent the values of our great state or the families who call it home. I call on the GOP candidates of Congressional District One to join me in denouncing these inappropriate comments and show that we stand with all Arizonans, regardless of their race and heritage. ”
Tom O’Halleran currently represents Arizona’s First Congressional District in Washington D.C. A resident of the Sedona area for over 20 years, Tom has committed his life to public service. In Congress, he has stood up to protect the rights of working families, senior citizens, and our veterans.
